Scholarship 2007


Congratulations to all the applicants- we wish we could have given you ALL an award. Please remember that you can apply again and that the search is open to all graduating seniors and also to students engaged in post secondary educational efforts -up through graduate school!  

 

This year's $500 ILDI Scholarship recipient, Siena Baldi of Libertyville with Affiliate Director, Steve Bute.  Siena received her award at the 2007 Illinois Affiliate Finals Awards Ceremonies in Bloomington on April 14, 2007.

Q  Have you served as a tournament volunteer, appraiser or co-Team Manager in the past or currently?  

A   I have served as a volunteer for Regional and Affiliate tournaments (3 yrs and 2 yrs, respectively). In addition, I've assisted with Stagecraft workshops (2 years), instant challenge workshops (3), designing decorations and tournament set up/ take down. I have assisted with my younger sister's team and assembled lots of instant challenge kits to help team managers.

Q Have you done anything in your own life that would help inspire others to participate in creative problem solving with Destination ImagiNation ?

A  My unique combination of applying arts and science have intrigued many of my peers, teachers, and community members.

Some of my creations with duct tape, sewing old t-shirts and old jeans into quilts, purses, and shirts have provided DI team members with a new way of looking at old items.

Scholarship 07 Eligibility Requirements:

a. Applicant must have been active in Destination ImagiNation or OM Association Inc.for a minimum of two years, one of

which must have been in a region of Illinois.

b. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or a current college student.

c. Scholarship applies to all accredited two or four year colleges/universities and post-secondary vocational schools in the

United States.

d. Scholarship is for a one-time award of $500.00.

Scholar Update :Siena was admitted to Washington University in St Louis, MO., majoring in Art. She continues to explore her interest in  environmental sustainability.
